A letter of gratitude that says it all …

We received this retrieval story from Blue Haven NSW last September, from the mother of a 4 year old toddler, Alex. It really speaks for itself.

“A terrible experience upon arriving at Wyong Hospital Emergency Department; my son, Alex - having an acute asthma attack. He was administered everything possible, but nothing seemed to work. We were losing him!

But then slowly the drugs began to take effect. The doctors mentioned to me he would have to be flown to a children’s unit for expert care. The chopper arrived and the team took over the care of our son.

Once Alex was stabilised, Max and I could breathe easy again … we stood back in amazement at how the doctor and nurse treated our precious boy as if he were the most important little person. With expert attention he was prepared for the journey to Randwick, transferred to the chopper and we waved goodbye!

Max and I followed in the car, and once Telstra Child Flight had landed, the mobile phone rang. It was the doctor on board informing us that the flight went well, Alex was cheerful and enjoyed the flight. He even let Alex talk to us. We were so touched and brought to tears!"

Thank you to everyone involved - the doctors, nurses and pilots."
